“Balance is the key to everything. What we do, say, think, eat, feel, they all require awareness and through this awareness we can grow”-Koi Fresco, spiritual teacher and author

My Approach and What to Expect When Working With Me
I believe in the power of collaboration and a strong therapeutic relationship and understand this can take time to build. I will provide a safe environment for you to explore your emotions in a non-judgmental space. I believe the environment you are in sets the stage to allow my clients to feel comfortable to share their vulnerabilities with trust that I get to earn from them.
As part of an emotionally safe space, I enjoy bringing the healing impacts of nature into my office. From succulents to cacti to bamboo to Madagascar jewels, I love them all! It gives me joy to see them grow and transplant them to give a bigger space to flourish without limitation of what surrounds them. I also have a Himalayan salt lamp to cleanse the air and essential oils for aromatherapy. I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy by the beautiful St Croix River. My ultimate goal is to make my office and outdoor spaces to enjoy coming to each session; to create a relaxing environment to help assist in the intensity of conversation to reach your therapeutic goals.
I always take a client-centered approach and hold high value that you are the expert within yourself. I'm here to help you as you navigate and make sense of your experiences while providing feedback, encouragement, and offering another perspective. I also reflect and celebrate your progress along with you. I assess biological, environmental, physical, social, psychological, spiritual, and cultural influences to learn individual areas of strength and challenge keeping in mind my clients are the experts within themselves. I have a holistic approach and believe in the power of self-determination, utilizing strengths and lifestyle changes to motivate and help clients increase resiliency and improve satisfaction in life.

My specialties

I enjoy working with clients who are invested in themselves to put forth the energy and work therapy requires to be successful, heal, and improve overall wellbeing. I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, exploring spirituality, and challenges with self-fulfillment and satisfaction. I focus on mind-body-spirit connections with an emphasis on nutrition. I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches specific to my clients needs.

How my own experiences make me a better therapist and mental health nutrition provider

Because of my own history of depression and anxiety along with challenges with healthy eating habits, exploration of spirituality, and journey in finding and living my authentic self, I can relate to my clients on a personal level. I have experienced the struggles in talking through vulnerable topics and making tough changes; I will support, encourage, and motivate my clients as they move through this process.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I love what I do and seeing my clients gain the awareness to how things connect (those "light bulb moments") and feeling empowered to make changes to better their life experiences and daily joy greatly fulfills me. I take pride in helping my clients graduate from therapy as well as taking away what they need for a positive relationship with themselves influenced by all aspects of wellbeing as they gain the confidence they can take on life's challenges. I also value the potential need to resume their work with me if they recognize they need to do so.
